The pattern is available in the following sizes 3-6 months / 6-9 months / 9-12 months / 1-2 years      

The pattern consists of:       

Sc= single crochet     

Ch = chain     

2sc I 1 st = 2 sc in same stitch     

Sl st= slip stitch St/sts=stitch/stitches     

You need:       

6mm – 6,5mm hook. Or yarn and needle, 2 rows on 2 rows = 2x2cm   

yarn approx.  550-750 yards I recommend this  

Darning needle     

Scissor

5 buttons     

Pattern info:      

This pattern is applied from the top to the bottom, the front piece separately, the back piece separately, and the arms separately. All parts are then assembled and afterwards the hood and the ears will work.     

The first chains are not counted as a stitch,     

Every Row ends with a chain and then the work is turned. The chain is not counted as a stitch and therefore, always work a stitch in the previous row last stitch. Rows for size 9-12mins / 1-2 years are in brackets ( )

front piece:      

First we work the front piece.     

For size 9-12m / 1-2 y the rows within ( ) are applied     

Chain 13/15/17/20      

R1. In the second st from the needle make a sc, then work a sc in each sts When done, you should have (12/14/16/19) stitches, make a chain and turn the work      R2-13 (2-17) 1 sc in each st each row finish with a ch and begin with a sc in first st, every row should have a total (12/14/16/19) sc     

R14 (18). Work 1 sc in the (8/10/12/15) next sts, 2 sc in next st, 1 sc in next, then 2 sc in next and 1 sc in last sts total (14/16/18/21) sc     

R15 (19) .2sc in first, 1sc, 2sc in the third sts, 1 sc in the remaining sts (16/18/20/23) sc          

R16 (20). 1 sc in each stitch     

R17 (21). 2 sc in the first 2 sts after 1 sc in each of the remaining sts (18/20/22/25) sc     

R18 – 45 (22-50) 1 sc in each sts     

For size 1-2 years work 5 more rows of sc  

Now we’ll start on the other front piece, this front piece will have buttonholes. Depending on the size of your button you may need to adjust the size of the buttonhole, by making more sc and less ch or vice versa. Work the first part for size 3-6 / 6-9 months     

and work the second part for size 9-12 months / 1-2 years       

Front piece with buttonhole size 3-6 / 6-9 months      

Chain 13/15 /      

R1. In the second st from the hook make a sc, then work a sc in each st. When done, you should have (12/14) stitches, make an air mask and turn the work     

R2. 1 sc in the next (9/11) sts, 2 ch and 1 sc in last st.     

R3. 1 sc, 2 sc in the ch-loop, 1 sc in remaining sts     

R4-9. 1 sc in each stitch     

R10. 1 sc in the next (9/11) sts, 2 ch and 1 sc in last st.     

R11. 1 sc, 2 sc in the ch-loop, 1 sc in remaining sts     

R12.-13. 1 sc in each stitch      

R14. 1 sc, 2 sc in next st, 1 sc, 2 sc in next and 1 sc in remaining sts (14/16) sc     

R15. 1 sc in the next (11/13) sts, 2 sc in next, 1 sc, 2 sc in last st (16/18) sc     

R16. 1 sc in each stitch     

R17. 1 sc in (14/16) sts, 2 sc in each of the last two sts (18/20) sc     

R18. 1 sc in the next (15/17) sts, 2 ch and 1 sc in last st     

R19. 1 sc, 2 sc in the ch-space after 1 sc in each st      

R20-25. 1 sc in each stitch      

R26. 1 sc in the next (15/17) sts, 2 ch and 1 sc in last st     

R27. 1 sc, 2 sc in the ch-space, after 1 sc in each remaining st     

R28-33. 1 sc in each stitch     

R34. 1 sc in the next (15/17) sts, 2 ch and 1 sc in last st     

R35. 1 sc, 2 sc in the ch-space, after 1 sc in each remaining st     

R36-45. 1 sc in each stitch     

Front piece with buttonhole size 9-12 months / 1-2 years:      

Chain 17/20      

R1. In the second st from the hook make a sc, then work a sc in each stitch. When done, you should have (16/19) stitches, make a chain and turn the work     

R2-3 1 sc in each stitch     

R4. 1 sc in the next (13/16) sts, 2 ch and 1 sc in last st.     

R5. 1 sc, 2 sc in the ch-loop, 1 sc in remaining sts     

R6-11. 1 sc in each stitch     

R12. 1 sc in the next (13/16) sts, 2 ch and 1 sc in last st.     

R13. 1 sc, 2 sc in the ch-loop, 1 sc in remaining sts      

R14.-17. 1 sc in each stitch     

R18. 1 sc, 2 sc in next st, 1 sc, 2 sc in next and 1 sc in remaining sts. (18/21) sc     

R19. 1 sc in the next (15/18) sts, 2 sc in next, 1 sc, 2 sc in last st (20/23) sc   R20. 1 sc in the next (17/20) sts, 2 ch and 1 sc in last st     

R21. 1 sc in first sc, 2 sc in ch-loop, 1 sc per st, then 2 sc in each of the last two sts (22/25) sc     

R22-27. 1 sc in each stitch.     

R28. 1 sc in the next (19/22) sts, 2 ch and 1 sc in last st     

R29. 1 sc, 2 sc in the ch-space after 1 sc in each remaining st     

R30-35. 1 sc in each stitch     

R36. 1 sc in the next (19/22) sts, 2 ch and 1 sc in last st     

R37. 1 sc, 2 sc in the ch-space after 1 sc in each remaining st     

R48-50. 1 sc in each stitch     

For size 1-2 years work 5 more rows of sc  

Back      

Chain 21/25/29/33      

R1. In the second st from the hook make a stitch, then work a sc in each stitch. When done, you should have (20/24/28/32) stitches, make a chain and turn the work     

R2-13 (2-17). 1 sc in each stitch     

R14 (18). 1 sc, 2 sc in next, 1 sc, 2 sc in next, 1 sc in next (12/16/20/24) sts, 2 sc in next, 1 sc, 2 sc in next, 1 sc in last     

R15 (19). 2 sc in first, 1 sc, 2 sc in next, 1 sc in next (18/22/26/30) sts, 2 sc in next, 1 sc, 2 sc in last     

R16 (20). 1 sc in each stitch     

R17 (21). 2 sc in the first two sts, then 1 sc in each (24/28/30/34) sts, 2 sc in the last  2 sts     

R18.-45 (22-50). 1 sc in each stitch     

For size 1-2 years work 5 more rows of sc  

sleeves:   

Make    two     

Chain 7/7/9/9      

R1. In the second st from the hook make 2 sc, 1 sc in the next 3 sts, 2 sc in the last     

R2-12 (2-16). On every row, work two sc in first st and 2 sc in last st, and 1 sc in every st between.     

R13 (17). 1 sc per st     

Now, decreas begins, decreases in turns 14, 19, 24, 29 and 34 for size 3-6 months and 6-9 months for size 9-12 months and 1-2 years decrease on row 16, 21, 26, 31 and 36th. Dec 1 sc in first st, skip second st, make 1 sc in third, then make 1 sc in each stitch, skip the second last st, make 1 sc in the last st, the turns between decreases are common rounds with 1 sc per stitch.     

For size 3-6m and 6-9m, the sleeve ends with R 35. For size 9-12 months and 1-2 closes the sleeve on R 39.     

Rabbit ears      

Chain 6     

R1. In the second st from the needle 1 sc, 1 sc in remaining sts     

R2-3. 1 sc in each stitch     

R4. 2 sc in first st, 1 sc in each st and 2 sc in last st     

R5-11. 1 sc in each stitch.     

R12. 2 sc in first st, 1 sc in each st and 2 sc in last st     

R13-16. 1 sc in each stitch     

R17. 2 sc in first st, 1 sc in remaining sts and 2 sc in last st     

R18-24. 1 sc in each stitch     

R25. 1 sc, skip next, 1 sc in the next 7 sts, skip last row, 1 sc in last st     R26-27. 1 sc per mask     

R28 1 sc, skip next, 1 sc in next 5 sts, skip next row, 1 sc in last sc     

R29. 1 sc per mask     

R30. 1 sc, skip next, 1 sc in the next 3 sts, skip next row, 1 sc in last sc     

R31 1 sc, skip next, 1 sc in next, skip next to last sc, 1 sc in last sc     

R32, skip first sc, 1 sc in second sc and sc in last sc.     

Start from the top and work 1 sc around the ear.     

pockets:       

Chain 8      

R1, 1 sc in second st from the Hook, 1 sc in remaining sts a total of 7 sc     

R2-8 1 sc in each stitch     

R9, 1 sc in first, skip next, 1 sc in next 3 sts, skip next row, 1 sc in last st.     

Then work 1 sc around the pocket, do not work sc on top of pocket, sew the pocket / pockets in place.     

Small rabbit ears:      

Hook approx 3.5 mm and fitting yarn     

Chain 5     

R1, 1 sc in second stitch from hook     

R2-10 1 sc in each stitch     

1 sc in each row around the ear, sew in place under the pocket     

Assembling:      

Attach and cut away all loose threads.     

Begin with sewing along the shoulder seams straight to the right, be careful not to twist the front piece. Sew approx. 4 (5) cm from outer shoulder towards neckline. Then sew the sleeves on, start at the center of the sleeve at the top and match it to the shoulder seam.     

Lay the work flat and match the sides against each other and the side seams of the sleeves against each other, then sew the work together.     

Now you’re ready to work the hood in place.     

Hood:      

What way you start is a choice, I start with the right side of work facing me.     

R1. Work every other stitch 2i1, 1 sc, 2sci1st, 1 sc, 2sci1st, 1 sc, 2sci1st, and so on.     

R2-25, 1 sc in each stitch     

For size 9-12 months and 1-2 years, it will take 32 rows for the hood.      Finish the hood by either sewing it together by folding it double or the right side outwardly make a sl st through both sides of the hood. Then fasten the ears.      

Finish:      

Start at center back on the bottom of the coat, chain 2 and work 1 sc all around the coat and hood, make a sl st inte the top chain you made center back.      

Determine where the buttons should be and sew them securely, fasten and cut any threads.
