The head is crochet in the round, the ears and body crochet in rows. The sts made each round/row is written in (*)
Mr – magic ring
Ch – chain
Sc – single crochet
Sl st – slip stitch
St/sts – stitch/stitches
Sc2tog – single crochet 2 sc into 1
Dc – double crochet
Back post single crochet
Yarn: Sirdar smudge – found here
Hook: 5,0mm and 7,0mm
Yarn or thread to make the eyes and pigs snout
Optional: scrap yarn for a bow
Start with hook 5.0 mm and make a magic ring
R1. 6 sc in mr, pull the ring tight and sl st tog.
R2. Ch 1, 2 sc in same st as sl st, 2 sc in each st, (12) sl st tog
R3. Ch1, 1 back loop single crochet in each st (12) sl st tog
R4. Ch1, 1 sc in same st as sl st, 1 sc in next st, sc2tog, *1 sc in 2 sts, sc2tog* repeat one more time. (9) sl st tog
R5. Ch1, working in front loop only! 2 sc in same st as sl st, 2 sc in each remaining st. (18) sl st tog
R6. Ch1, 1 sc in same st as sl st, 2 sc in next st, *1sc in next st, 2sc in next st* repeat 5 more times. 1 sc in remaining sts. (24) sl st tog
R7-8. Ch1, 1 sc in same st as sl st, 1 sc in each remaining sts, (24) sl st tog
R9. Ch1, 1 sc in same st as sl st, 1 sc in next st, sc2tog, *1sc in 2 sts, sc2tog* repeat 4 more times (18) sl st tog
R10. Ch1, 1 sc in same st as sl st, sc2tog, *1sc in next st, sc2tog* repeat 4 more times (12) sl st tog
Fill the head with stuffing
R11. Ch1, sc2tog 6 times. (6) Sl st tog
Sew the hole shut.
Please note, the ears are worked in rows and there is no ch1 when turning
Start by chaining 5
R1. In 2nd chain from hook, make 1 sc, then 1 sc in remaining sts (4) turn
R2-4. 1 sc in each st, turn
R5. Sc2tog 2 times (2) turn
R6. Sc2tog (1)
Make one more and sew securely onto the head.
Using hook 7.0mm
R1. In 3rd chain from hook make 1 dc, 1 dc in each chain across (25) ch 2, turn
R2-9. 1 dc in each st across, ch 2, turn
R10. * 1 dc in 3 sts, sc2tog* repeat 4 times (until end of row) (20) ch 2, turn
R11. * 1 dc in 2 sts, sc2tog* repeat 4 times (until end of row) (15) ch 2, turn
R12. 1 dc in each st.
Wrap yarn around all 4 corners creating hand and feet for the little pig. Make sure to fasten the yarn tightly!
With scrap yarn and matching hook make a magic ring,
R1. Ch3, make 5 treble crochet, 1 sc, 6 treble crochet and 1 sc, pull ring close and wrap some yarn round the middle of the bow, sew securely onto the head.
Finish the lovey by embroidering details on the face and sew the head in place between the hands of the body.
