Materials:
Yarn: approx. 550 – 600 meters, light weight yarn or yarn and hook required to obtain gauge
Yarns i recommend:
Rico Fashion Cotton Light & Long DK
Hook: 4,0mm
Scissors
Needle
Stitch markers
Gauge: 6sc x7 rows = 4×4 cm
Crochet terms:
Sl st – slip stitch
Ch – chain
Sc – single crochet
Dc – double crochet
St – stitch
Sts – stitches
Pattern info:
This pattern is both worked in the round and in rows, you can find a video tutorial for each step here. Behind the rounds that inc are the number of stitches you should have when finishing that round.
Stitches are separated by, so if it says 1 dc, 2dc, it means: work 1 dc in first st and 2 dc into next st.
When a sequence of st is repeated, these will be in between * – * and the number of times the sequence is repeated is written behind.
To customize size:
If the socks are to small over the feet keep repeating R 4 and R 6 until it covers the top of your foot. If the shaft of the socks are to short simply repeat R 6 and R 7 until you are happy with the measurements.
If the shaft is to narrow, inc each round with simple double crochets by making 2 dc in the first st until you are happy with the size.
Toe and foot:
Round 1: Make a magic circle, ch 3 (count as dc), work 9 dc in circle pull and sl st into top of ch3 (10)
Round 2: Ch 3, 2 dc in same st, 2 dc in each st, 1 dc in same st as ch3,(20) sl st tog
Round 3: Ch 3, 2 dc in same st, * 1 dc, 2dc in next st* repeat total 9 times (30) sl st tog
Round 4: Ch 3, 1 dc in same st, 1 dc in each remaining st, sl st tog
Round 5: repeat round 4
Round 6: Ch 3, 2 dc in same st, * skip 2 sts, in third st male 3 dc* Repeat tot 9 times sl st tog
Round 7: repeat round 4
Round 8: repeat round 6
Round 9: repeat round 4
Round 10: repeat round 6
Round 11: repeat round 4
Round 12: repeat round 6 – for size EUR 36/37 stop here and continue onto next step
Round 13: repeat round 4 – for size EUR 38/39 stop here and continue onto next step
Round 14: repeat round 6 – for size EUR 40/41 stop here and continue onto next step
If Needed make continue repeating rounds here
When you are happy with the size make a false stitch (watch video instructions if needed)
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Heel:
Round 1: place hook or stitch marker into your false stitch, count 10 sts to your right side of marker (11 sts incl st with marker) Fasten yarn in 10th st, ch 1 and make 1 sc in same st. then make 1 sc in 20 sts. (21)
Round 2: Ch 1, turn work, 1 sc in each st across.
Round 3-9: Repeat round 2
Fasten off weave in ends
Back of heel:
Round 1: With the opening of your heel facing you, count 6 sts from your right side, fasten yarn into 7th st with 1 sl st, then make 1 sc in the following 7 sts, sl st into 2 sts.
Round 2: Turn, skip 2 the 2 sl sts you made, make 1 sc in 7 sts, sl st into 2 sts.
Round 3-7: Repeat round 2
Round 8: Turn, skip 2 the 2 sl sts you made, make 1 sc in 7 sts, sl st into last st. DO NOT FASTEN OFF
Shaft:
Round 1: with yarn still on hook from last round of heel, Ch 1, make 1 sc in same st, then 1 sc in each st all around the opening of the sock,(37) sl st into first st,
Now you should have 37 sts, if not is okey, go back and add a stitch where appropriate or make more inc rounds later on.
Round 2-3: Ch 1, in same st make 1 sc, and 1 sc in each remaining st. sl st tog
If you just want slippers you can repeat round 2 for 3 more rounds.
Round 4: Ch 3, in same st make 2 dc, 1 dc in each st remaining (38) sl st tog
Round 5: Ch 3, in same st make 2 dc, 1 dc in each st remaining (39) sl st tog
Round 6: Ch 3, in same st make 2dc, *skip 2 sts, 3dc in next st* Repeat at total of 12 times, sl st tog
Round 7: Ch 3, 1 dc in same st, 1 dc in each remaining st, sl st tog.
Now you will repeat round 6 and then round 7 until you are happy with the length,
For over the knee and a person that is 165 cm tall you will make a total of 33 rounds on the shaft.
Always end with a repeat of round 6, round 6 is needed for the ties.
Lace: *Ch 3, sl st inte next st,* Repeat until end of row,
Ties: sl knot, chain until tie measures approx. 120cm
Repeat every step for the second sock.
Weave in all lose ends and youre finished!
