This is the perfect crochet baby blanket for car rides on cold days. Keep the baby warm and protected while outside the car and just fold the blanket out when the car is warm, all without waking, unbuckling or undressing the baby.

This pattern is made down and up, each row ends with 2 chains which does not count as a stitch.

Materials
Yarn: approx. 350gr of bulky weight yarn
Tapestry needle
Hook: 6.0 mm
Chain 75.
R1. In 3rd chain from hook, make 1 dc, make 1 dc in each chain across, (total of 72dc) Chain 2 and turn.
R2. 1 dc in each stitch (72) chain 2, turn
R3-10. Repeat Row 2
R11. Make 1 dc in the first 34 stitches, Chain 4 and skip 4 sts, in the fifth make 1 dc and then 1 dc in each remaining sts. (72) chain 2 and turn
R12. 1 dc in the first 34 sts, 4 dc in chain space, 1 dc in each remaining sts (72) chain 2 and turn
R13-16. Repeat Row 2
R17. 1 dc in 26 sts, chain 4, skip 4 sts, 1dc in next 12 sts, chain 4, skip 4, 1 dc in the remaining 26 sts (72) chain 2 and turn
R18. 1 dc in 26 sts, 4 dc in chain space, 1dc in next 12 sts, 4 dc in chain space, 1 dc in the remaining 26 sts (72) chain 2 and turn
R19-29. Repeat Row 2
R30. 1 dc in 29 sts, chain 5, skip 5 sts, 1 dc in 4 sts, chain 5, skip 5 sts, 1 dc in remaining 29 sts. (72) chain 2 and turn
R31. 1 dc in 29 sts, 5 dc in chain space, 1 dc in 4 sts, 5 dc in chain space, 1 dc in remaining 29 sts. (72) chain 2 and turn

The hood:
R1. Start from either side, count 19 sts, in the 20th st, fasten yarn and chain 2, in same sts make 1 dc, make 1 dc in the following 33 sts. (34) chain 2 and turn
R2. 1 dc in each sts across. (34) chain 2 and turn
R3-11. Repeat R2
Fold the Hood and make 1 sc trough both sides of the hood.
Fasten off and weave in loose ends. Now you have a cozy carseat blanket, if you want to you can fold the bottom off the blanket, each side towards the center, overlapping five sts and make 1sc in each sts, through both sides of the blanket, making the bottom closed. You can then add buttons to close the sack with.
