For this crochet baby coat i have used a type of chenille yarn from Gohandmade called Happy chunky fine! It makes for a super soft crochet jacket / coat for the baby to cuddle in.

pattern Notes

Pattern info:
• The number of sts for each row is written in ( * )
• When a row ends with: ch 1, turn, the ch 1 does not count as a stitch
• When a series of stitches are repeated those are written within *-* and the total number of time that series is repeated is written behind.
• The pattern is made in 5 pieces that are then sewn or crocheted together, and the hood is added at the end.
• The sts are divided by, for example 2sc, 1sc, 2sc, means that you make 2 sc in first st, 1 sc in next st and 2 sc in the following st.
• The pattern is crochet from top of neckline, the hood is crochet from the neckline and up.
• When you have crocheted all the pieces you will find the assembly instructions at the end of the pattern.
• The pictures are taken for size 0-3 months but help guide you for all the sizes

Assembling the coat (all sizes)

Lay the front piece and back piece right side together, sew the shoulder together 4sts in for 0-3 months, 3-6 months and 6-9 months and 5 sts for 9-12 months.
Lay the pieces you just sewed together open with wrong side up.
Match the last increase row on the front and back piece with the last increase row on the sleeve. Then sew or crochet the pieces together. Do the same on the other side with sleeve no 2.
When both sleeves are attached fold the coat right side together. Sew or crochet all sides together.
The picture on the right does not show the other sleeve. You sew the other side in the same way as the side illustrated in the picture.
I make 1 sc between each row to get a nice and even result.

The Hood

Size 0-3m, 3-6m and 6-9 m
Turn the coat right side out, with right side towards you, fasten yarn in first st.
