Pattern info specifically to this pattern:

Since t-shirt yarn tends to differ in size and thickness I recommend making the test circle before starting.

If the basket is to be used by a baby, I do not recommend making the canopy, the t-shirt yarn is heavy and stretches over time, the canopy may collapse, never leave the child unattended in the basket, never carry the basket with the child in it.

Pattern – refers to the color change used to make the hearts.

Materials

Yarn: Hooked spaghetti approx. 3 ½ spools of base color 1 ½ spool of accent color. (since the t-shirt yarn may vary in thickness, the finished size may vary)

Hook: 7,0mm crochet hook

Stitch markers (if needed)

Scissors

Check Gauge:

To check that your basket will be a good size you will work 3 rounds of vsc.

1. Mr, 8sc in mr, sl st, ch 1(8)

2. 2vsc in each st, sl st, ch 1 (16)

3. *1vsc, 2vsc in next st* x8 sl st (24)

Now measure your circle it should fit just inside 4”.

If it’s much bigger or smaller you might want to consider changing your hook size.

Then sl st all the way round, make a false st in the st. And weave in your ends.

Find your center stitch, fasten yarn, ch 1, make 1 sc in same st and 1 sc in each st all the way round. Sl st tog.

Start with the grey color, ch 1

Canopy – not recommended if basket will be used for a real baby, due to the collapse risk!

Fasten yarn and weave in ends.
