Sc – single crochet
Sl st – slip stitch
St/sts – stitch/stitches
Ch – chain
Mr – magric ring/ magic circle
Vsc – waistcoat single crochet
Vhdc – waistcoat half double crochet
Pattern – refers to the color change used to make the hearts
Pattern info:
I always recommend reading through the entire pattern before starting
Since tshirt yarn tends to differ in size and thickness I recommend making the test circle before starting.
If the basket is to be used by a baby I do not recommend making the canopy, the tshirt yarn is heavy and stretches over time, the canopy may collapse, never leave the child unattended in the basket, never carry the basket with the child in it.
check gauge
To check that your basket will be a good size you will work 3 rounds of vsc.
- Mr, 8sc in mr, sl st, ch 1(8)
- 2vsc in each st, sl st, ch 1 (16)
- * 1vsc, 2vsc in next st* x8 sl st (24)
Now measure your circle it should fit just inside 4”
If its much bigger or smaller you might want to consider changing your hook size.
