FREE crochet pattern - Baby lovey, Bunny

This super cute bunny lovey will make for the perfect newborn gift, embroider the name and date of the child into one of the ears or just leave it as is. This pattern contains some step by step pictures and illustrations to help show you how to crochet this lovey. However, some of the pictures are from another pattern but are added to this one since the steps are done the same.

Materials

Yarn: 1 skein of white cotton yarn, 1 skein of white chenille yarn

Hook: 2,5mm, 5,0mm

Embroidery thread black and pink

Scissors

Needle


Head


With cotton yarn and a 2,5mm crochet hook make a magic circle.

1. 6 sc in mr (6)

2. 2sc in each st (12)

3. *1 sc, 2sc in the next st* x 6 (18)

4. *1 sc in 2 sts, 2sc in the next st* x 6 (24)

5. *1 sc in 3 sts, 2sc in the next st* x 6 (30)

6. *1 sc in 4 sts, 2sc in the next st* x 6 (36)

7. *1 sc in 5 sts, 2sc in the next st* x 6 (42)

8. 1 sc in each st (42)

9. *1 sc in 6 sts, 2sc in the next st* x 6 (48)

10. 1 sc in each st (48)

11. 1 sc in each st (48)

12. 1 sc in each st (48)

13. 1 sc in each st (48)

Before closing the head with the last round stuff the head firmly. Once the head is stuffed take your black embroidery yarn and make the loveys eyes.

Start by inserting your needle through the hole in the back of the head, leave a piece hanging out to use to tie with when the eyes are finished. Chose were you want your eyes to start and follow the steps. below or if you choose to you can make whatever type of eyes you prefer. The size of your eyes will depend on how many stitches you chose to work over.

Ears


Make 2.

With white chenille yarn and 5,0mm crochet hook, chain 3, you will then start in the first chain made.

1. 3dc in the first chain made (third from hook) (3) ch 2, turn

2. 2dc in each st (6) ch 2, turn

3. 2dc in the first st, 1 dc in 4 sts, 2dc in last st (8) ch 2, turn

4-10. 1 dc in each st (8) ch 2

11. Dc2tog, 1 dc in 4 sts, dc2tog (6) ch 2, turn

12. 1 dc in each st (6) ch 2, turn

13. 1 dc in each st (6) ch 1, turn

14. 1 sc, sc2tog x 2, 1 sc (4) ch 1, turn

15. 1 sc in each st (4) cut your yarn but leave a piece long enough to use when sewing the ear to the head. Fold the edge with the single crochets you just made in half and then sew the ears to the head.

Body


With chenille yarn and a 5,0mm crochet hook, chain 24.

1. Starting in third chain from hook, make 1 dc i each chain across (22) ch 2, turn

2-14. 1 dc in each st (22) ch 2, turn

15. 1 dc in each st (22)

Cut your yarn and secure your ends.
